Password generalization is one of the most basic master plans you can pick up to address an issue of unsafe password learning. Compounding the matter is that some people use lots of different passwords so managing them becomes tricky.
To address the matter, Rasa Security deployed a partnership with Dyn that helped it solve some password provision problems across its clients. To this end, LSK has developed a tool to help you do what Rasa Security calls “Password Generalization.”
This tool may be useful since it helps you allocate a password to a group of users/users-to-be and to fix the same password to each user.
Hence, it saves you the trouble of sending out a password change email to more than the target set and also assures that you are safeguarding your users’ information. That makes the role-based password management scheme convenient for personal management, to generate users’ unique data, and to pool user data across clients.
Moving from HTTP to Rasa Secret Service
How could this platform help you enable this capability? Well, we have two options — Browser and Single or joint user backend.
In the browser alternative, you can store the credentials for each user on the guest credentials app your browser.
You can easily use this by giving your browser the credentials for your newly registered user in order to set up the general public account for the new user.
If you don’t use an app to share login details, it could give your browser a system level access where you cannot have the private key.
On the other hand, there is also a single user-to-be solution. This is somewhat of a hassle-free interface. If you are good at keeping all credentials intact, the app will keep track of all the credentials and will register an account to name your group. Once you get a group, we’ll offer you the power to pick and have that account updated.
You can then just add other user-to-be authentication credentials such as email and cookies. Each user can also add an “Authorize user” by setting a secret access key that will be the default so you can authenticate the two other users.
You can also take advantage of “Two-factor authentication” to add optional authentication. This method can be used for people who don’t have a password and use codes.
On the other hand, we also offer you a long-term solution, whereby you can use a long-term user. This extension is not a default style and is an extension of the system level access, that we just described earlier. It allows your browser to update the credentials of the website you’re visiting.
Rasa Secret Service can be set in S-Verse part of Rasa Security management portal. As such, you need only register the credentials for the password and then have the group update its credentials.
